Catching the Sun
One of the people who read ‘Catching the Moon’ showed me photos she had taken doing the same kind of thing with the sun. That was something that had never occurred to me. We were on our way to Cable Beach for a sunset when Suzie showed us her pictures. So we tried it too.
This morning was foggy – unusual for this time of year, but apparently not so unusual at other times.
When the fog lifted, the reflection of the sun was visible before the sun itself. When the sun became visible, at first it was an orange glow shining through the mist – perfect for ‘catching’ photos. I was near a couple of people, showing them and sharing a silhouette I had just taken of them.
Then the sun appeared, glowing orange through the haze. I asked the boy to hold his hands in a ‘catching’ pose. I moved back as far as I could (to decrease the size of the boy so the sun would appear larger) and I lined myself up for a ‘catching the sun’ picture. Voila.
Looks amazing. . Beautiful WA. Enjoy the rest of your journey. Hope you get to Coral Bay and check out Ningaloo Reef. x a
Our trip south was during WA school holidays. without bookings, the inland route was the safer option for us. The reef will have to wait until our next visit. Friends there now say it is 40 degrees every day. We’d had enough of that.
