Welcome Home Antigone! Peppa 40-Day Memorial Planned

Antigone is finally out of hospital. After three weeks, it is great to be together again – at home, on our bike, and in the community.

Sadly, Peppa is not around to share Antigone’s homecoming. We have to settle for memories. Fortunately, we have many photos.

If only Antigone’s homecoming could be like this … We’ll have to settle for photos.

Antigone is from a Cypriot background. She was born in Melbourne and her parents met in Melbourne, but both parents were from Cyprus.

One Cypriot custom is to mourn for 40 days after a death. A memorial is celebrated on the 40th day, including a special food called koliva (golifa) – a sweet wheat berry dish. We have decided on Thursday 5 March for a memorial gathering for Peppa (40 days after her death on 24 January). It will also be her burial.

  • Who: Friends and family with pleasant memories of Peppa
  • When: Thursday 5 March, from 6pm for 6:30 burial, followed by a meal
  • Bring: a special ‘Peppa memory’ and some food and drink to share.

We look forward to seeing you.
